Saharan dust to begin impacting weather conditions in Jamaica tomorrow
An area of Saharan dust now impacting the eastern Caribbean is expected to begin impacting weather conditions in Jamaica starting tomorrow (July 12).
The dust plume will move through the Caribbean and in to the Gulf of Mexico during the course of the week.
Saharan dust may affect the eyes and lungs.
As such, persons with asthma & other respiratory illnesses, should take the necessary precautions, to protect their health.
This includes avoiding prolonged exposure to the outdoors, or wearing a mask that is able to filter dust particles, if you must go outside.
