Residents of Mango Walk Lane, in Mountainside, St. Elizabeth were jolted this morning following the murder of a couple in the area.

Police have identified the deceased as Sharon Calder and Richard Foster.

Head of the St. Elizabeth police, Acting Superintendent (ASP) Coleridge Minto said at about 3:45 AM, the couple left their house and were attacked by unknown assailants.

Mr. Foster was reportedly preparing to send off Ms. Calder to the Montego Bay Craft Market in St. James, where she works.

ASP Minto said community members are concerned over the killings, as the community is not usually a violent one.

He urged persons with information about the murders to share what they know with the police.
