Rudolph Speid confirmed as the Reggae Boys Coach for the 2026 Unity Cup
Rudolph Speid has been confirmed as the Reggae Boys Coach for the 2026 Unity Cup tournament later this month in England.
The leadership of the Jamaica Football Federation at a meeting on Tuesday, upheld the recommendation of the Barry Watson headed JFF Technical Committee.
The Technical Committee agree that the Jamaican Technical staff who served at the FIFA Confederation World Cup Playoffs in Mexico in March be retained for the tournament ahead of the selection of a long term coach
The Technical staff in Mexico included : Miguel Coley, Michael Donaldson, Aaron Lawrence and Lamar Morgan
Speid was initially appointed as interim coach of the Reggae Boys following the resignation of coach Steve Mclaren when he failed to guide the team to qualify automatically for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
In the meantime the selection for a long term coach will now be activated at the end of the Unity Cup Tournament which runs from May 26 to 30 at the Valley in Charlton, South-East London.
Jamaica, India, defending champions Nigeria and Zimbabwe will feature at the four team tournament
Zimbabwe and India will contest the opening match on May 26 with Jamaicas Reggae Boys to take on India a day later.
The winners will meet in the final on May 30 while the losers will contest the third place decider in the opening match of the final day double-header.
