Robert Nesta Morgan is to be reassigned as Works Minister, while Senator Dana Morris Dixon will be the new Information Minister
Robert Nesta Morgan is to be reassigned as Minister with responsibility for Works.
He will take over from embattled former Minister Everald Warmington who was separated from his Cabinet portfolio in the wake of controversial comments about giving funding to an Opposition Councillor.
Morgan’s new appointment was announced yesterday by Prime Minister Andrew Holness.
He previously served as the Information Minister.
That portfolio will go to Senator Dana Morris Dixon; in addition to her other responsibilities for skills and digital transformation.
Meantime, Senator Abka Fitz-Henley is now the Parliamentary Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister.
Holness said he advised Governor General Sir Patrick Allen of the Executive changes, which are effective today.
He said the administration is committed to fulfilling its 2020 mandate of transforming Jamaica into a peaceful, productive and prosperous nation.
He said the adjustments will assist the administration in delivering its policies and programmes more efficiently and effectively.
