Road Safety Unit says weekends are deadliest time period for motorists
Weekends tend to be the deadliest time period for motorists in Jamaica.
This as the Road Safety Unit (RSU) is reporting that the majority of road crashes, most of which are fatal, occur on Saturdays and Sundays.
Director of Education at the RSU, Dontae Matthews outlined the concern while addressing last evening’s virtual meeting of the Transport Operators Development Sustainable Services (TODSS).
He noted that just under 360 fatalities have been recorded so far this year.
Of that number, 76 persons died on a Sunday.
