Road Safety Council calls for potholes to be fixed with greater urgency
There is an appeal for the pace at which potholes in the nation’s roads are fixed, to be increased.
Vice Chairman of the National Road Safety Council, Dr. Lucien Jones made the call, after an elderly woman died of injuries she sustained, when the vehicle in which she was travelling, crashed while the driver was trying to avoid a pothole.
The incident happened along the Walkerswood Main Road in St. Ann on Saturday.
Dr. Jones said potholes must be fixed, as they are posing an issue to motorists and pedestrians.
He said proper signs are also needed along roadways.
