Restaurant Associates Limited says BK workers reported strong gas odour to gas provider, ahead of this morning’s explosion
The operator of Burger King Jamaica, Restaurant Associates Limited says employees at its New Kingston Branch had reported a strong gas odour to the gas provider, ahead of this morning’s explosion.
Six workers were taken to hospital following the incident, which happened at around 10: 36 AM.
The company’s Chief Executive Officer, Lisa Lake said the gas provider had carried out a routine delivery but soon after, staff members reported the gas smell.
She said the gas provider returned to the restaurant, made its checks, and deemed the area safe for business.
Ms. Lake lauded the quick response of emergency personnel and others who assisted the injured workers.
She said the workers had been shaken by the incident.
