Residents of Riversdale, St. Catherine protest over deplorable road conditions and lack of water
Upset residents of Riversdale in St. Catherine staged a protest today over deplorable road conditions and lack of water.
They said the problem has been ongoing and criticized the Member of Parliament for not doing enough to address their plight.
Riversdale falls within the North East St. Catherine constituency, held by Member of Parliament Kerensia Morrison of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP).
The protesters were supported by People’s National Party care taker Andrine Higgins.
She pointed out that for over 40 years, the roads have been in a poor state and more patching will not suffice.
When JLP Councillor for the Troja Division, Robert Grandison, attempted to defend MP Morrison, he was heckled by the residents.
