Residents of Lacovia stage another protest over bad roads and water issues

Frustration is intensifying in North Western St. Elizabeth, where residents of Lacovia staged another protest this morning, rendering the main road from Lacovia to Haughton impassable.

This is the fourth protest in two weeks, as residents escalate concerns over deteriorating infrastructure, along with ongoing issues of inadequate water and electricity supply.

The protest caused major disruptions, with commuters forced to seek alternative routes.

The situation has prompted urgent calls for clear timelines on when the issues will be resolved.

In an interview with IRIE FM News, People’s National Party (PNP) Caretaker for St. Elizabeth North Western, Patricia Scarlett-Forrester said residents have been left with only promises, further deepening frustration in the constituency.

She is calling for firm timelines to be provided, to give residents a clearer understanding of how and when the matter will be addressed.
