Renovation work on jail at police station in St Anns Bay results in shortage of space to accommodate accused persons in custody

Written bySugar Ray Thomas

The St Ann police say there’s a shortage of spaces to accommodate accused persons in their custody.

This is due to the St Ann’s Bay police station lock up being closed for reconstruction.

The update was provided by Commander for the St Ann Police Division, Senior Superintendent (SSP) Carlos Russell.

SSP Russell added that efforts are being made to find an alternative location to relocate officers from the St Ann’s Bay Police Station, which is being repaired.

He was speaking at a meeting between the police and business stakeholders at the Ocho Rios Baptist Church yesterday.
