Region’s resources sufficient to provide for its people – CARICOM Chair, Dr. Andrew Holness
“The resources within the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) are sufficient to provide for the needs of citizens of the region.”
That is the declaration from CARICOM Chair and Prime Minister of Jamaica, Dr. Andrew Holness.
Dr. Holness was speaking during the 49th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM in Montego Bay, St. James, yesterday.
Noting global uncertainties, Dr. Holness stressed the importance of CARICOM strengthening its internal partnerships, as well as its ties to Africa.
However, Dr. Holness noted that any move to ensure the region’s prosperity must include the citizens of Haiti, which has been plunged into chaos since the assassination of its President, Jovenel Moïse, on July 7, 2021.
