Reggae Girlz hold steady at 40th in FIFA Rankings

Jamaica’s senior women’s national football team continues to hold steady at 40th place in the latest FIFA Coca-Cola Women’s World Rankings.

The Reggae Girls remain the fourth-highest ranked team in the Concacaf region, trailing behind former world champions and current number one, the United States, followed by Canada, which slipped one spot to eighth, and Mexico, holding firm at 29th.

The Caribbean region has seen notable movement this period, with Haiti making significant strides up three places to 50th and Puerto Rico climbing two spots to 79th. Other regional teams inside the top 100 include Panama at 56th, Trinidad and Tobago at 76th, and Guatemala, which dropped four places to 83rd.

At the very top, the gap between leading teams is tightening, with Spain (2nd) and Germany (3rd) closing in on the United States. The rest of the top ten includes Brazil, England, Sweden, Japan, Canada, the Korean Republic, and France.

The next FIFA/Coca-Cola Women’s World Ranking update, set to be published on August 7.
