Jamaica’s senior Reggae Girlz kicked off their first training session in Trinidad and Tobago earlier today, as they gear up for an international friendly against the Trinidad and Tobago women’s national team on Tuesday, October 28 at the Ato Boldon Stadium.

The squad, currently in camp in the twin-island republic, features a blend of experienced internationals and emerging talents, as the technical staff continues player assessments ahead of the CONCACAF Women’s World Cup Qualifiers, set to begin in November.

Notably absent is Manchester City striker Khadija Shaw, who head coach Hubert Busby confirmed is being rested for this window after discussions with the player and her club. However, the team fields a full complement of foreign-based players competing professionally in Canada, England, Portugal, Turkey, and the United States.

The roster includes:

• Goalkeepers: Sydney Schneider, Rebecca Spencer
• Defenders: Tiffany Cameron, Gabrielle Gayle, Tianna Harris, Konya Plummer, Allyson Swaby, Chantelle Swaby
• Midfielders: Olufolasade Adamolekun, Deniesha Blackwood, Israela Groves, Jaileah McPherson, Atlanta Primus, Vyan Sampson
• Forwards: Jody Brown, Njeri Butts, Shania Hayles, Kayla McKenna, Natasha Thomas, Kaylissa Van Zanten

In the upcoming Concacaf Women’s World Cup Qualifiers, Jamaica has been drawn in Group B alongside Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Guyana, and Nicaragua. Trinidad and Tobago, meanwhile, will compete in Group F with Barbados, El Salvador, and Honduras.

The friendly match next Tuesday will offer an early test for the Reggae Girlz as they fine-tune their squad ahead of the crucial qualifiers later this year.
