Reggae Girls blank Antigua and Barbuda 4-nil in Concacaf Women’s World Cup qualifiers  

The Reggae Girls took one step closer in qualifying for their third consecutive FIFA Women’s World Cup. 

This after blanking group B’ rivals Antigua and Barbuda 4-nil on Friday night in the Concacaf 2027 Women’s World Cup qualifiers at the National Stadium. 

World class striker Khadijah ‘Bunny’ Shaw led the Jamaicans with a triple strike , with Daniesha Blackwood also getting on the scoresheet in stoppage time. 

Shaw opened the scoring from the penalty spot in first half stoppage time , after Atlanta Primus was brought down in the antiguan box. 

The Manchester City Women’s top player would later double the lead in minute 49, before sealing her treble in the 55th minute, with a well timed header from a cross, off the boot of Kiki Van Zanten in one way traffic . 

Blackwood would later add one more to the Jamaican goal tally when she scored in the 91st minute to seal the win. 

Meanwhile, the Hubert Busby coached Jamaicans will continue their Concacaf Women’s World Cup qualification next Saturday, when they host Guyana at the National Stadium. 

Elsewhere, on the night, Priscila Chinchilla scored a whopping 11 times to help Concacaf number three team Costa Rica to a 21 nil mauling of the Cayman Island, while  Mexico hammered the US Virgin Islands 9-nil.
