Reformed reckless PPV operators playing integral role in improving driving habits in KMTR -All Voice Taxi Route Association President
Reformed reckless public passenger vehicle operators are playing an integral role in improving driving habits in the Kingston Metropolitan Transportation Region (KMTR).
Operators have long been under scrutiny for their poor and dangerous driving patterns, with several commuters, motorists, and other road users pleading with authorities to address the issue.
However, President of the All Voice Taxi Route Association, Lorraine Finnikin, says since 2023, when the new Road Traffic Regulation was implemented, more operators are changing for the better.
He admits that more work needs to be done to address the issue effectively.
Still, he notes that several operators who are frustrated with the negative stigma surrounding them are either pointing out their rogue colleagues to the police or encouraging them to change.
Mr. Finnikin says that with cops enforcing the law and persons within the sector working to effect change, more improvements in operators’ driving patterns will be seen.
