Director of Elections, Glaspole Brown says the recounting of ballots cast in yesterday’s election are underway and is expected to be completed by the weekend.

At the end of the preliminary count last evening the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) received majority votes in 34 constituencies.

The People’s National Party (PNP) polled the most votes in the other 29 constituencies.

Speaking with IRIE FM News this morning, Mr. Brown said returning officers will count all the ballots cast for each constituency, in the presence of the candidates and/or their representatives.

He lauded his team for what he described as the administration of a credible election.
