Recording artiste Joseph ‘Jo Mersa’ Marley has died
Jamaican/American recording artiste Joseph Marley, who is the son of Reggae star Stephen Marley and the grandson of Reggae legend Bob Marley, was found dead in the United States.
The 31-year-old, who was also known as ‘Jo Mersa’ was reportedly found unresponsive in a motor vehicle. The cause of death has not yet been confirmed.
Mersa debuted in 2014 with the EP “Comfortable” and appeared on the Grammy-winning album ‘Strictly Roots’ by Morgan Heritage.
Several fans and well-wishers took to Twitter today, to express condolences to the Marley family.
They included leader of the Opposition, Mark Golding, who lamented the passing of the young artiste, stating that the loss of a child is a devastating blow no parent should face.
Culture Minister Olivia Grange also offered condolences to the Marley family, while noting that Joseph’s death is a huge loss to the music industry.
