Public sector nurses reportedly upset with government over unresolved wage issues
Nurses in the public health sector are reportedly upset with the government about unresolved issues with their wages.
The nurses wore black clothing today to show their discontent.
President of the Nurses Association of Jamaica (NAJ), Dawn Marie Richards said among the issues is the non-implementation of the extra hours worked payment system.
President of the Jamaica Midwives Association, Sharon Bambury Edwards said the nurses are unhappy with how the matter is being handled by the Finance Ministry.
Services at health facilities were not affected by the black-out.
