Public order operation undertaken in Lucea, Hanover
A public order operation was undertaken in Lucea, Hanover today (August 22), resulting in several persons being warned for prosecution and tickets issued for regulations breaches.
The operation involved officers from the Hanover police, Area One, Jamaica Defence Force, Fire Brigade, National Water Commission, Hanover Municipal Corporation and the National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA).
Deputy Superintendent in charge of operations for Hanover, Peter Salkey, says the operation began at about 10:30 AM.
He states that the authorities are enforcing the policy of no vending and no parking in the town and clamping down on traffic breaches.
DSP Salkey adds that the other agencies investigated issues including environmental concerns.
