Protests continue over fatal shooting of Ribbiz chef by off-duty policeman
Residents of Central Kingston staged another protest last night calling for justice in the killing of Jermaine Richards otherwise called ‘Sandocan.’
Richards, who was a chef at Ribbiz Ultralounge, was shot and killed at the plaza where he worked.
Reports are that he was at work at about 4:10 AM last Thursday when a dispute developed between him and an off-duty police officer.
Richards was shot and killed during the incident.
Hours later, residents who were upset about the incident gathered in Central Kingston, calling for justice to be served.
Last evening, the residents took their protest to the Ardenne Emirates Plaza where the incident occurred.
The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) has launched a probe into the incident.
Last week, the agency appealed to people with information or video footage of the incident to share it with the commission.
