Protests against salary increase of political class to continue this week
Citizens are expected to continue their protests this week to show their dis-satisfaction with the massive salary increases announced for members of the political directorate.
Flyers on several social media platforms have urged citizens to gather in several key towns in the corporate area, on Monday morning.
Meantime, members of the Advocacy Network have indicated their intent to stage protests at the finance ministry’s office in Downtown Kingston, starting on Wednesday.
Executive director of the Jamaica Accountability Meter Portal, (JAMP), Jeanette Calder urged citizens to use the opportunity to register how they feel about the increases.
Ms Calder urged those who can’t participate in the physical protests, such as those in the diaspora, to voice their displeasure online.
