Transport Minister Daryl Vaz says the procurement process for the purchase of buses for phase 2 of the Rural School Bus System will begin by the end of November.

The Ministry will this week put out a tender for expression of interest for the acquisition of 150 school buses to be used in the next phase.

He explains that the authorities had a limited time to acquire the first set of buses for the start of the 2025/26 academic year in September.

Those buses came from the North American school bus system.

The process to get the other buses is commencing now to have the vehicles for the next academic year.

He adds that the Ministry will be looking at the options available, noting the team has garnered much from the assessments.
