Probe launched into reports that several laptops were stolen from Hope Road offices of SSL
An investigation has been launched into reports that the St. Andrew offices of Stocks and Securities Limited (SSL) were ransacked and several items were stolen last night.
Head of the St. Andrew Central Police, Senior Superintendent, Marlon Nesbeth told IRIE FM news that reports from staff indicate that several laptops were stolen from the Hope Road offices.
He said a probe is being conducted to determine the extent of the theft.
The incident follows yesterday’s revelation that the scope of the fraud at SSL has grown to more than USD 30 million, with evidence indicating that over 200 accounts of clients were impacted.
News of a multi-million dollar fraud scheme at the entity surfaced early this year.
Several persons, including Jamaican Olympian Usain Bolt are victims of the fraud.
