Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness says Jamaica is performing below its potential due to the activities of criminals.

Dr. Holness made the comment at the East Central St. James Scholarship Award function at the weekend.

He noted that while Jamaica celebrates four million tourists, more potential will be unlocked when the murder rate is driven below the regional average.

Dr. Holness said it is Jamaica’s destiny to be a peaceful society.
