Prime Minister describes Opposition’s continued criticism of the country’s health sector as audacious
Prime Minister Andrew Holness has described as audacious, the Opposition’s continued criticism of the state of healthcare in the country.
The People’s National Party (PNP) has been lambasting the Government for not doing all that is necessary to provide high-quality healthcare to Jamaicans.
In the latest criticism, Spokesperson on Health, Dr. Alfred Dawes renewed the demand for an audit of the Cornwall Regional Hospital Rehabilitation Project.
The opposition argued that the project is plagued by escalating costs, indefinite variations in scope and missed deadlines for completion.
Speaking at a groundbreaking ceremony this morning, Prime Minister Holness said it is galling that the Opposition continues to speak on healthcare, when it refused to implement the necessary changes during its years of leadership.
Mr. Holness maintained that his administration has done more for healthcare than any other administration since independence.
