President of the UNIA/ACL JA Steven Golding calls for Garveyism to be instilled in children from a young age
President of the Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA) and the African Communities League Jamaica (ACL), Steven Golding, asserts that Garveyism should be instilled in children from a young age.
Garveyism is an ideology, created by Jamaica’s first National Hero, Marcus Garvey, that promotes black pride and the creation of self-governing black nations.
Mr. Golding believes that integrating Garveyism into children’s upbringing serves as a social engineering tool to foster a stronger sense of self-identity and historical awareness.
August 17 was commemorated as the 137th birthday of Marcus Garvey and the 60th anniversary of his designation as a national hero.
