PPV operators urged to exercise caution amidst counter-protests by JLP and PNP members over Dennis Chung’s FID appointment
Public Passenger Vehicle Operators who ply the Kingston Metropolitan Area are being urged to avoid protest zones today.
This as members of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) and the People’s National Party (PNP) are to stage counter-protests in relation to Dennis Chung’s appointment as the Chief Technical Director of the Financial Investigations Division (FID).
The PNP, who will take to Heroes Circle this morning, has argued that the appointment is a conflict of interest, as Mr. Chung has made public pronouncements on cases which are being investigated by the FID, including one relating to the statutory declarations of Dr. Holness.
During a JLP conference in St. James last night, Dr. Holness urged party members to protest against the PNP’s demonstrations.
President of the Transport Operators Development Sustainable Services, Edgeton Newman says caution must be exercised by operators.
