Powell and King Named in West Indies Squad for Bangladesh Tour

Jamaicans Rovman Powell and Brandon King have both been named in the West Indies squads for the upcoming One Day International (ODI) and T20 International series against Bangladesh, which bowls off later this month.

The regional side will face Bangladesh in a three-match ODI series and a three-match T20 International series, set for October 18 to 31 in Dhaka and Chattogram, respectively.

King has been listed in the ODI squad, while Powell joins him in the T20 lineup.

Former West Indies Under-19 captain and current academy player Ackeem Auguste has earned a maiden ODI call-up, replacing Evin Lewis, who has been ruled out of the tour due to a wrist injury.

Meanwhile, Khary Pierre, who made his Test debut against India earlier this month, has been recalled to the limited-overs setup to bolster the spin department alongside Gudakesh Motie and Roston Chase. Alick Athanaze also returns to the ODI squad, which will be led by captain Shai Hope.

In the T20 squad, left-arm pacer Ramon Simmonds and Amir Jangoo have been included for the three matches in Chattogram, as the selectors continue to blend youth and experience.
