Porus Residents, business owners call for meeting with police to discuss crime-fighting partnership
Residents and business owners in Porus, Manchester are calling for a meeting with the police to discuss a partnership to help reduce violence in the area.
Councillor for Porus Claudia Morant-Baker says businesses are suffering from the imposition of curfews.
She also noted the reduction of traffic due to the construction of the May Pen to Williamsfield leg of Highway 2000.
Last year, Porus was the scene of several murders, prompting the police to tighten security measures there.
Mrs. Morant-Baker says citizens and business owners want to work with the police to address the problem.
She also charged residents in troublesome areas to refrain from keeping valuable information from the police.
