Political commentator says despite recent acts of vandalism targeting JLP, PNP campaign material he does not believe this election will see significant acts of violence

Political commentator Linton Gordon, says despite recent acts of vandalism targeting campaign material of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) and the People’s National Party (PNP), he does not believe this election will have any significant act of violence.

As the election season intensifies there have been mounting reports of campaign material being vandalised by supporters of both the PNP and JLP.

Opposition Leader, Mark Golding said he has reported two incidents to the commissioner of police.

Speaking to IRIE FM News last evening, Mr. Gordon noted that acts of vandalism are nothing new to the election period.

He explained that due to social media, the incidents are being publicised more, in comparison to other years.

Mr. Gordon said he does not believe that there will be any significant act of violence this election period.

In the meantime, Mr. Gordon stated that while the polls are showing that the election will be close, there will be a low turnout of voters.
