A call is being made for the nation’s policymakers to undertake meaningful investment in education.

President of the Jamaica Teachers’ Association, Dr. Mark Smith made the call as he doubled down on the importance of taking significant steps to transform the sector.

Dr. Smith noted that drastically boosting the country’s literacy and numeracy levels should be a primary policy for the Government.

He maintained that a robust inclusive education system is the engine that will drive sustainable growth and create a more prosperous society for all Jamaicans.
