Police theorise that driver error / speeding contributed to motor vehicle crash in St. Mary

The traffic police are theorising that speed was a major contributing factor to a motor vehicle crash along the Rio Nuevo main road, in St. Mary, this morning

Three men were killed in the crash. Their identities have not been released.

Reports are that about 6:30 a. m. the driver of a white Benz motor vehicle failed to properly negotiate a right turn, resulting in his loss of control of the car, which ran off the road, into a ditch, then collided some trees.

Four men, including the driver, were aboard the vehicle, which was extensively damaged.

Head of the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch Assistant Commissioner of Police Gary McKenzie said the 3 passengers died on the spot, while the injured driver has been hospitalised in serious condition.

ACP McKenzie said driver error contributed to the crash.

He is urging motorists to be more careful on the roadways.
