The police say a multi caliber omni hybrid rifle, and over 450 assorted rounds were among weapons taken from an apartment on Caledonia Road Manchester, following a hours long standoff between the security forces and a gunman.

The unidentified man was fatally shot by the security forces bringing the standoff to an end at about 12:30 P.M.

Head of Area Three Assistant Commissioner of Police Calvin Allen said the hybrid rifle is capable of firing various types of ammunition.

He said the assorted rounds are still being counted.

And curious citizens converged metres away from the scene of the shooting.

One man said he has lived in Mandeville for over 40 years and he is alarmed at the incident.

Another resident added that the incident is a cause for concern.
