Police searching for man known only as “King” and “Shawn” who they say was a key accomplice in the sexual assault and trafficking of two teenage girls between 2022 and 2024

Police are searching for a man known only by the aliases ‘Shawn’ and ‘King’, who is believed to have been a key accomplice in the sexual assault and trafficking of two teenage girls in St. Catherine between 2022 and 2024.

Detectives assigned to the Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) are urgently seeking information on the man’s whereabouts.

An investigation was launched when a 44-year-old taxi operator of White House, Ewarton in St. Catherine was reported to the police last year for allegedly sexually assaulting his stepdaughter, who was 15, and his biological daughter, who was 12 years old when the abuse started.

The incidents occurred between 2022 and 2024.

The police say several instances the taxi operator also trafficked his daughter and stepdaughter to his friend known only as ‘Shawn’ or ‘King’ as well as to underage boys.

The father and step-father allegedly collected money following the acts.

The alleged abuse was uncovered by relatives who alerted CISOCA, and an investigation was launched, which led to the discovery of incriminating evidence against the man, including video footage.

He was apprehended and charged with: two counts of rape, two counts of grievous sexual assault, sexual intercourse with a person under sixteen, four counts of trafficking in persons, three counts of incest, two counts of child pornography and two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm.

The taxi operator pleaded guilty in court and was recently sentenced to 33 years and eight months in prison for rape, aggravated sexual assault, and sexual intercourse with a person under sixteen.

He received 15 years for trafficking in persons, 10 years for incest, 10 years for child pornography, and three years for assault occasioning bodily harm. All sentences are to run concurrently.

Head of CISOCA Superintendent of Police Kerry-ann Bailey said the investigators left no stone unturned in this investigation and strongly condemned the actions of anyone who preys on children.

She said this sentencing sends a clear message that the police are targeting sexual predators and are urging all Jamaicans to be vigilant.

CISOCA investigators are urging the man known as ‘Shawn’ or ‘King’ to report to the Spanish Town police station immediately.
