Police are reporting that a decomposing body, found in the trunk of a car in Gregory Park, St. Catherine yesterday is believed to be that of missing 8-year-old boy Navardo Blackburn.

Navardo went missing in Gregory Park last Saturday.

The child was said to be autistic.

Police say that at about 4:30 P.M., Navardo was last seen at a play-field in his community.

He has not been heard from since.

Yesterday, police were alerted by residents in Gregory Park to a decomposing body in the trunk of a motor car.

Initial reports had indicated that the body was that of an adult.

However, the child’s uncle reportedly identified the body as Navardo’s.

In the meantime, Member of Parliament for St. Catherine East Central, Alando Terrelonge described the situation as very dire.

He said the body was discovered after residents smelt a foul odor and called the police.

The MP said the child’s family and the entire community is distraught at this time.
