Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Pascoe has issued a firm warning to those behind praedial larceny and livestock theft, declaring that officers from the Agricultural Protection Branch (APB) will pursue offenders actively.

Pascoe, who heads the APB, was speaking at the recent Jamaica Agri-Business Investment Forum at the Montego Bay Convention Centre, where he emphasized the damaging impact of agricultural theft on farmers and the wider economy.

Pascoe said, praedial larceny has long plagued farmers, leading to substantial financial losses, reduced productivity and disincentives in the sector.

He outlined the strategies being implemented, since the APB’s establishment on June 13, including enhanced investigative efforts, stronger prosecutions, and greater collaboration with farming communities.

Pascoe assured stakeholders that once crimes are reported, trained officers will be deployed to act swiftly.

The forum was held under the theme “Sustainable Agri-Business: Global Reach, Local Impact.”
