Police pursuing two suspects in the killing of JDF Private, Ejay Domville
Police are pursuing two suspects in relation to the killing of Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) Private Ejay Domville.
It’s reported that the persons being sought are from the Chestnut Lane community in Kingston.
Last Friday Private Domville, was shot dead allegedly by gunmen who fired at the security forces.
He was part of a team deployed in Denham Town.
In the meantime, the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) responded to concerns that Private Domville may have been accidentally shot by his colleague.
The JDF said it acknowledges that the complexity of a shooting engagement with threat force and split second decision making, can increase the likelihood of the accidental killing of one’s own forces.
However, the JDF said its predeployment training is focused on minimizing this risk to ensure the safety and well-being of its service members during a firefight.
The JDF sought to assure Private Domville’s family and the public that it is fully cooperating with the investigation by the police and the Independent Commission of Investigations, which now have full authority on the matter.
The JDF noted that it is conducting internal investigations to ensure all facts are uncovered.
It also extended deep condolences to the family of Private Domville during this extremely difficult time and called for patience as the investigation takes place.
