Police presence ramped up in Kingston Western, following fatal shooting of four men by police this morning
Police presence has been ramped up in sections of Kingston western, following the fatal shooting of four men during an alleged confrontation, this morning.
The identities of the deceased have not yet been released.
Reports are that at about 1:30 a.m lawmen responded after explosions were heard at the intersection of Charles and King Streets.
Upon arriving at the scene, they were allegedly fired upon by gunmen traveling in a motor vehicle.
A gun battle ensued and 4 of the alleged gunmen were shot dead.
A police constable was also wounded.
He is in stable condition at hospital.
Police say five firearms, including rifles, were seized during the incident.
The Independent Commission of Investigations and the Inspectorate Professional Standards Oversight Bureau (IPROB) were notified of the matter.
