Police presence ramped up at PM Holness’ residence following alleged bomb threat
An alleged bomb threat on the Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness and his household last evening has prompted the security forces to increase their presence in the Beverly Hills area of St. Andrew.
In a statement the police refuted claims on social media about a raid at the Prime Minister’s residence.
The police said their deployment to the community was initiated in response to credible intelligence gathered indicating a legitimate security threat to the Prime Minister and his household.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force said the swift and effective action by officers repelled this threat, successfully.
The officers continue to maintain a presence at the location, in line with standard security protocols.
The JCF said it remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens, particularly in moments where intelligence suggests heightened risks.
It also urged members of the public to refrain from sharing unverified information.
