Police issue another warning to motorists using Flat Bridge following fatal accident last night; vehicle to be removed from river today
Another warning is being issued to motorists who traverse the Flat Bridge along the Bog Walk Gorge in St. Catherine.
This, after an elderly man died after his motor vehicle plunged into the Rio Cobre at about 10:41 last night.
Police say 65-year-old Noel Patterson of Honeysuckle Place in Portmore Pines, St. Catherine reportedly lost control of the vehicle while navigating the Flat Bridge.
Speaking with IRIE FM News, Head of the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch (PSTEB), Assistant Commissioner of Police Dr. Gary McKenzie said it is hoped that Patterson’s vehicle will be removed from the river today.
Noting that there has been a recent spate of incidents in the area, ACP McKenzie is urging motorists to exercise caution to prevent injury or death.
