Police indicate possible extension of Spanish Town curfew
The authorities have indicated that the 48 hour curfew which was imposed in sections of Spanish Town, St. Catherine on Tuesday, will be extended.
The curfew was imposed due to a flare up of gang violence.
It is slated to expire at 6 o clock Thursday evening.
Commanding officer for the St. Catherine north police, Senior Superintendent Howard Chambers told Irie Fm news that plans are in place for the curfew to be extended.
And, minister of National Security, Dr. Horace Chang also told Irie Fm news team, that once the police request an extension, it will be granted.
Since Tuesday, 4 people have been killed in separate incidents in Spanish Town, while, 5 others have been wounded.
On a wider scale, at least 10 people have been killed and 6 others wounded in St. Catherine, over a three day period.
