Police identify 2 of 3 people killed in motor vehicle crash in Discovery Bay
Police have identified 2 of the 3 persons killed in a motor vehicle crash along the Queens Highway in Discovery Bay, St. Ann, yesterday.
Dead are 45-year-old taxi operator Clint Carty of Old Folly District, in Discovery Bay; and, Georgia Johnson.
The other female victim remains unidentified.
Several other persons, including 2 toddlers, remain hospitalised.
Their condition is not known.
The crash involved a Mitsubishi Outlander and a white Honda Step Wagon motor car which was being operated as a taxi along the Discovery Bay to Falmouth route.
Its reported that the driver of the Outlander lost control of the vehicle which collided with the Step Wagon motor car.
Vice Chairman of the National Road Safety Council (NRSC) Dr. Lucien Jones said 222 have died in road crashes since January.
While expressing condolences to the relatives and friends of the crash victims, Dr. Jones again stressed the need to apply sanctions for breaching road safety regulations, in a bid to reduce the carnage.
