Police Emergency Communication Centre says it surpassed its 80% call answering target for this year
The Police Emergency Communication Centre (PECC) says it has improved significantly the number of calls answered by its operators within a 20-second time frame.
The PECC made the disclosure following reports that some citizens were experiencing challenges contacting the police by telephone.
IRIE FM News, which had been probing the matter since January last year, revealed its findings last week in a special three-part feature entitled, “Phones Copping Out: Police Stations & Dispatchers Under Scrutiny.”
However, the PECC has a further defence.
Shanice Gibbs reports.
