Police Commissioner says INDECOM report on fatal shootings lacks context
Commissioner of Police, Major General Antony Anderson, has criticized the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) for its recent report on fatal shootings by the police.
In the report last week, INDECOM said there were 126 fatal shootings between January and November, this year.
It also expressed concern that police officers were involved in many of the shootings.
The police chief has taken issue with INDECOM ‘s report.
Speaking at the St. Catherine North Divisional awards ceremony today (December 13), Major General Anderson said in many cases INDECOM ‘s reports on fatal shootings do not provide enough context.
