Police Commissioner orders immediate probe into death of prisoner at Chapleton Lockups
Police Commissioner Dr. Kevin Blake, has instructed the Constabulary’s Inspectorate and Professional Standard Branch, to commence an immediate probe into the circumstances that led to the death of a male prisoner at the Chapleton Lockups in Clarendon this morning.
Initial reports from the police are that at about 3:15 A.M. lawmen on duty heard unusual sounds coming from one of the cells and made checks.
The male prisoner was seen with a wound, which was reportedly inflicted by other inmates.
He was transported to the May Pen Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
