Police Commissioner Dr. Kevin Blake commits to continue efforts to tackle crime
Police Commissioner Dr. Kevin Blake has committed to continue efforts to tackle crime in Jamaica.
He made the statement after he officially took command of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, JCF at a ceremony at the Commissioner’s Office in Kingston, yesterday.
Dr. Blake took over from former Commissioner Major General Antony Anderson who served 6 years in the post.
Today marks Dr. Blake’s first day in office.
In a bid to restore law and order he has pledged to ensure that police personnel are provided with the necessary resources to fight crime.
Dr. Blake also highlighted the importance of partnering with communities in an effort to rid the nation of criminals.
National Security Minister Dr. Horace Chang has expressed confidence in the capability of newly appointed Commissioner Dr. Kevin Blake.
Dr. Chang said his confidence in Dr. Blake comes from the level of transformation taking place within the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
He said in seeking to replace former Commissioner Major General Antony Anderson, the Office of the Services Commission was able to identify Dr. Blake as a qualified member to take up the post.
