The police have slapped several charges on a Kingston man in relation to a large gun and ammunition seizure last week.

He is 38-year-old Lamar Douglas, otherwise called ‘Joe’, of Patrick City, Kingston 20.

Reports are that on Wednesday, May 28, officers attached to the Firearms and Narcotics Investigation Division (FNID) seized 14 firearms, 12 magazines and fifty-seven rounds of ammunition on Deeside Avenue, Kingston 10.

Douglas, who was out on bail in relation to another case was arrested following the seizure.

He has been charged with 19 counts of possession of prohibited weapon, dealing in prohibited weapon, trafficking prohibited weapon, stockpiling prohibited weapon, conspiracy to traffic prohibited weapon, conspiracy to deal in prohibited weapon and conspiracy to stockpile prohibited weapon.

Meantime, the police are seeking the public’s assistance to find another suspect.

Julian McLeish evaded the police during the operation.

He is urged to turn himself in to the police immediately.

Director of FNID, Acting Senior Superintendent of Police Patrae Rowe commended the team for its bravery and diligence in disrupting the movement of illegal firearms.
