The St Elizabeth police have assured that the Safe Schools Unit is active in several institutions across the parish and have been intervening in situations involving students.
Head of the division Superintendent Coleridge Minto said support is being given to schools, to stem crime and violence.
The assurance comes amid reports that six high school boys were arrested, on Thursday on allegations of committing house break -ins.
Superintendent Minto said the boys, aged 13 to 16 years, were taken into custody, following an operation in the Malvern police area.
Several household appliances were also recovered during the operation.
