Police assure relatives of Dancehall artiste, Medikk, that her killers will be brought to justice
The police have sought to assure relatives of Dancehall artiste, Stephanie Williams, better known as Medikk, that those responsible for her murder will be brought to justice.
The assurance was given by Crime Officer for the Westmoreland Division, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dale Reid, on behalf of Head of the Constabulary’s Crime and Security Portfolio, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Fitz Bailey.
Speaking at the funeral service for Medkik, at the Church of God in Savanna La Mar, Westmoreland, yesterday, DSP Reid said the police are pursuing every lead.
Last August, Williams was reported missing and several search efforts proved futile.
The police launched an investigation and in February, skeletal remains were found in Portmore, St. Catherine.
DNA tests confirmed that the remains are those of Williams.
A post-mortem revealed that she was shot.
The police indicated that they have identified suspects in the case but are yet to make an arrest.
