Police arrest 10 people in cordon & search operation in Brown’s Town, St. Ann

Ten people were arrested in a cordon and search operation in Brown’s Town, St. Ann, on Saturday, January 11.

The operation, led by head of the St. Ann police, Senior Superintendent Dwight Powell, in collaboration with the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF), was carried out in the town centre.

Police say the primary objective was to disrupt illegal activities, locate wanted individuals, and ensure public safety.

The operation resulted in the arrest of the 10 individuals for breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act, Customs Act, and Offensive Weapon Act.

Police say several items were also confiscated.

These include uncustomed rum, knives, scissors, cigarettes, and cash.

The St. Ann police say the operation reflects their commitment to eliminate criminal activities and ensure the safety and security of all residents.
